Prime Directive
The impact on
the audience should be significant
... and maybe even a little bit life changing.
Why New
Media?
After decades
of experience in traditional bookselling, book publishing,
start-ups, and direct marketing, our principals have found that the
centuries-old model of transmitting information on paper is
nearly functionally obsolete.
Roughly 50% of
books published each year ending
up in landfills.
And because
the industry takes returns
within 90 days - which means
most books are sold on
consignment - the average book
takes at least five trips before
it is bought by a reader (from
printer to distributor to
wholesaler to store, then
returned to wholesaler, to
distributor, and then back out
and so on and so on).
With so many
shipping costs, the only company
pulling a real profit from books
is UPS.
And each trip
increases that book's carbon
footprint.
With the global environment in a crisis and the evolution in communication technology,
we at Maui Media have decided
that ideas and information do
not need to be trapped on paper.
New Media has
freed information from physical
form.
Environmental Impact
Because of our
concern over the environment,
Maui Media deploys an army of
contractors to work on projects
that interest them - and we
deliver as much as possible
digitally.
Precious few
trees are killed for our
products, and most who work with
us do not use fossil fuel to get
to work.
What Else?
In addition to the projects featured on this website, our principals offer consulting through their own websites.
